Do you still believe in New Year’s Resolutions?

Do you still believe in New Year’s resolutions?  The year will end again and the discussion about New Year’s resolution is again a hot topic.  Some tend to stop writing it because they always break it easily.  A new year is another opportunity to live better and motivate ourselves to work on new plans.

As we evaluate what the year had brought us or what we did for the whole year will be a consideration in writing about our New Year’s resolutions.  Why do some people break  it? Here are some reasons:

1. The resolutions are too many and it is hard to be consistent with all of them.
2. The resolutions are not realistic.  Let us be specific with what we aim for so that we will be successful in our plans.
3. We are not consistent and not firm with our resolutions.  We need more determination and focus if we want to follow our resolutions and become victorious over it.
4. We easily give up and lose hope that is why it is easy to go back again or stop doing our resolutions.

Personalized Cards to Cut Cost this Christmas

Electronic cards has been the 21th century trend for giving occasion cards like birthdays,Christmas, thanksgiving and other occasions. But for those who still want to create something out of their love and effort, there is no better way to do it than make a personalized card. Since highschool, I usually create my own and give it to my friends. Aside from it is more meaningful to give personalized cards, this is cheaper than buying in the bookstore. My mom used to make these personalized cards and sell it to others so I started doing it at the very young age.

Some of the materials used are old magazines, cardboard, linen papers, colored bond papers, dried leaves, Craypass crayons or watercolor, colored pencils, glitters and more. These are not expensive materials which you can use to create a wonderful christmas and other cards for all occasions.

Have you tried creating your personalized cards?

What Happened to Triond Website?

Triond is familiar to freelance writers where many of them started with this website before multiple writing websites emerged. I am one of those started with Triond, this is where I started writing online with poems then later on manages to write articles (short articles then later longer ones). This is where I established connections with other writers and learned from them.

Because of the low earnings in Triond and became busy with other websites, I have not been active with it. The decline of the earnings caused others to stay away from Triond and find new exciting writing websites.

I hope that Triond would resurrect from the grave and redeem itself.

Are you into Selfie Social Craze?

Selfie became a viral and general term for netizens and social media people for a period of time, no wonder it was already included in the Oxford Dictionary. You have a created a selfie once you have photographed yourself and share it to others.

People found a modern way of self expression through creative, innovative  ways, and the use of social media. Are you a selfie addict? How often do you take photos of yourself or being “selfie” in a day? Some may take it as a negative as an addictive mental disorder because of the need to express and be noticed. Some parents are alarmed and some take it as a way of common interest with their children. Some young teenagers would be disappointed if their photo does not get views and likes. Or they will be elated if their crush or someone that they like gets to like their photos.

But personally, I am not really into photo selfie thing, but I do enjoy and appreciate the creative juices that these people are doing. I am more of a photographer who loves to shoot food, restaurants, travel places, ordinary things, and people. I love to work behind production and also do some crazy stuff within my interest.

Writing Ideas for Freelance Writers

There are many articles written about “writer’s block”. If you are trying to start a writing career, you need various topics to begin with. Here are some ideas to write about:

1. Start with standard topics that you are comfortable to write with depending on your knowledge and skills.

2. Creative Writing. If you are not ready for articles that requires 300 words or more, you can also start with creative writing such as poems. This is easier to write than full length articles.
3. Seasonal topics are excellent topics such as Christmas, All Saints Day, Mother’s Day, and more.

4. Write more about topics that relates to you. If you are a parent, write about the challenges of being a mother of father, raising kids, cooking, and more.

5. Write about topics that interest you such as things that you love to do. Hobbies such as photography, cooking, gardening.

Writing is fun and it is a double bonus if you are earning from it.

Ideas for Creating Homemade Cards

Because of the rapid changes of the Internet, e-greetings card had been a way of sending cards to family and friends. Traditional printed cards can also be seen in bookstores but a large number of buyers decreased. For those who are in a limited budget and who want to personalized their cards, creating homemade cards is an alternative way of expressing heartful messages. On earlier days and If my time permits, I still sometimes do homemade cards for family and friends. Here are some ideas in creating homemade cards that I previously tried:

Handpainted and illustrated cards. If you are into art and drawing, you can create simple designs using your talent. Using water color and craypass

Using cut-out images and letters. Like scrapbooking, you can easily cut out images and letters from magazines. Use images that best describe your images or your recipient of your card.

Use dried leaves. Dried flowers inside a book is a common material for homemade cards.

Creating multiple envelopes. You can create atleast 5 envelopes in various sizes and put them together according to sizes. Create some designs on the largest envelope while the smallest envelope contains your handwritten message.

Inspirations in Song Writing Lyrics

Just like poetry, writing lyrics is one of the hobbies I like to do when the mood strikes. There are thousand of songs which are beautifully written, music is one of the most effective medium of expression.

Where can you find inspiration to write? There can be many topics that you can write about. In every situation you can find inspiration like you are telling a story, in every things you see around you, in every emotion that you feel, experiences of your friend, and many more inspirations in life. But for a lyricist or songwriter, not all the songs came from personal experiences. Just like a writer or an actor, a lyricist can play a different role and create a masterpiece. While many great songs are also written during the ebb of a songwriter’s life where personal emotions and experiences are the source of inspirations.

Can you list down songs beautifully written?

The London Bridge is Falling Down

Remember the song “London bridge is falling down, falling down’. The famous song London Bridge is popularized because of the place London Bridge located at the Central London, England. It is one of the main tourist attraction of the city where many tourists flocked to see it and other attractions such as the London Tower, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Royal Opera House, Big Ben, and many others.

The London Bridge is also a photographer’s favorite. As I travel to see the London Bridge up close, I took the best shot!

Poor Man’s Copyright for my Song

Being interested in music, I have been writing lyrics since my highschool days. Until now, when my mood strikes I write some lyrics. When I was out of the country years back, I was able to write a lyrics inside the four corners of my room. Maybe the cold weather outside took me to write one, the song is supposedly a sad song, but later on I finally decided to give it a twist with a humor on it.

This song is one of my favorites I wrote so I decided to have a poor man’s copyright by writing it on a sheet of paper, put it in an envelope, and brought it to the post office addressed to my home address for whatever purpose it may serve in the future. I do not know much about copyright, this is the only way I know. When I arrived from my travel, the mail already arrived ahead of me. Until now, the mail that contains the song is still with me..unopened. I wonder when will it be opened.

Improve your Photography Skills through Workshops

In any field of work, learning and continuously developing your skills is always important to become successful. Even successful photographers still want to add more knowledge and techniques to update themselves on the latest trends in the photography business.

One way to boost your skills is by attending photographic workshops. There can be many workshops being offered offline and online. Decide first what area of photography skills you want to enhance. Second, decide what type of workshops you will take either a one-on-one workshop, online workshop, or group workshop.

Make sure that you make the most of your workshop and apply to your next photography projects.

Writing Articles with Paper and Pen

Being a writer for various topics is like a 24/7 job where writing inspirations are everywhere. I usually write on my laptop workstation but there many times that I am out but ideas still coming out of my mind. A good title for an article or an outline of ideas to create a new one. While waiting for someone, waiting at the airport, in a restaurant, and many other places where I have idle time.

Using a traditional paper and pen I make use of the time to be more productive. I write a few drafts of my articles instead and later encode them when I got home. My mobile phone is too small and difficult to use so I would just stick to paper and pen which would make me faster to write. How about you, how do you write your articles away from your pc workstation?

Choosing your Wedding Photographer

Choosing a good photographer is crucial your photographer will capture the special moments of your once-in-a-lifetime event, your wedding day. Make sure you get the right one. Check family and friends if they will have referrals so that atleast you will have a feedback on how the freelance photographer or photography company works.

A good photographer value time since being punctual during the wedding day is very important. The photographer should be always one step ahead. The type of the equipment and cameras are also important, it will also determine the quality of your photos. Choose which are within your budget and atleast have good track record before closing an agreement with the Photographer.

Writing the Same Topic for Articles

As writers we have accummulated hundreds of articles with various topics. Some even have it in thousands, I wonder if they are able to archive their articles well and be able to identify topics that are written already.

I sometimes noticed myself on this situation, I would realized that I have tackled the same topic from my previous submission to a different content writing website. Without the intention of doing so, It happens. Do you experience writing almost the same topic for your articles? Some writers intentionally do rewriting their previous articles for submission to other writing websites. Although this has been written on a different words or in a different mode of sentences, same topic could be written.

Maybe because ideas are already in our bank memory and already within the area of our interest for writing.

Sharing and Learning through Online Writing

Online  writing provides a great opportunity to earn as well as learn from others. Through writing online, you will be able to share a lot of things in various categories depending on your field of expertise, experiences, and interests. Tutorial articles are one of the best ways that a writer can share his/her talent and expertise especially with hobbyists who are knowledgeable on certain skills. The good thing with sharing through writing is to be able to earn from it.

Through researching for the articles and reading other articles, one can learn so many things. Interacting with other writers is also one way of exchanging ideas, techniques, and developing writing skills.

Remember Pac-man Game?

Remember Pac-man? No, I am not talking about the boxer, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, but the popular classic pac-man arcade game in the 80’s even before candy crush and other game apps became famous these days. I remember then I am happy playing just the pacman. Although there are other more sophisticated games, I would choose pac-man for its simplicity. Pac-man eating the yellow dots while the ghosts are coming after him.

If you want to explore more about the pac-man game, here are some links to check out:

Until now, I am still a fan of pac-man. I hope kids also learn to play the old games that we grew up with :-D

Ways to Back-up Published Articles for Writers

For those writers that have been publishing to various content websites can sometimes cannot account the hundreds of articles they have written. It is hard to manage already if you keep on writing everyday with various topics of your articles. Normally, writers do have a copy of the Microsoft Word version or other word processing software of the articles for reference and further use.

Another way of saving articles online is by converting the webpage into pdf format and save them in a folder. There are a lot of html to pdf converters online that are free to use. I am currently using htmlpdf.com which is easy to use. It is best to have a copy of the actual published page of your article so you have the back-up of its publication. Converting html to pdf is better than using the “printscreen”.

Get Inspirations for Writing

Sometimes we do not know what to write inspite of many things to write about. We have a mental block, but what I do is write in advance possible titles for my next articles. Just it pops out of my mind, I need to write it down. I try to find other ways to get more ideas, here are things you can try:

Read blogs around the Internet – getting fresh ideas outside will give you more ides to write. There are a number of good blogs to explore and learn from.

Ordinary stories from your friends, you can write life lessons that you heard from others.

Explore Twitter, it is one of the best source of ideas. There are many good content shared on Twitter, you just need to know what is good and what is not (trash tweets). You should have right keywords to get the results you want.

Is Adobe Photoshop the best Graphic Software?

Adobe Photoshop is a popular graphic software among creative users. When you think of Adobe, photoshop is the next word you can say or remember. I have been an AdobePhotoshop user for years now although lately I have not been practicing the skills and not been updated with the latest version.

Do you think Adobe Photoshop is the best graphic software? I wonder if there other latest software that is at par with Adobe right now. I have tried Corel Draw, Paint Pro, and a few others. Computer graphics is very useful in business and creative activities. When you need a simple banner, a logo, web banner, flyers for an event, graphics for website, graphic materials for advertisement, invitation for an occasion, and so on.

Adobe Photoshop is currently on top position, but do you have any other graphics software that can be used for graphic materials?
