Are you into Selfie Social Craze?

Selfie became a viral and general term for netizens and social media people for a period of time, no wonder it was already included in the Oxford Dictionary. You have a created a selfie once you have photographed yourself and share it to others.

People found a modern way of self expression through creative, innovative  ways, and the use of social media. Are you a selfie addict? How often do you take photos of yourself or being “selfie” in a day? Some may take it as a negative as an addictive mental disorder because of the need to express and be noticed. Some parents are alarmed and some take it as a way of common interest with their children. Some young teenagers would be disappointed if their photo does not get views and likes. Or they will be elated if their crush or someone that they like gets to like their photos.

But personally, I am not really into photo selfie thing, but I do enjoy and appreciate the creative juices that these people are doing. I am more of a photographer who loves to shoot food, restaurants, travel places, ordinary things, and people. I love to work behind production and also do some crazy stuff within my interest.

To be Idle or Not?

Time is gold for those who has a handful of activities where 24 hours is sometimes not enough. You cannot even find time to sleep because there are things to do. But for those who are lazy and bored, idleness is a way of life. Where days comes by without doing anything productive.

To be idle or not is a choice we have to make on a daily basis. It is a choice if we are going to be lazy or do productive activities. If we have a plan for our daily activities, we can focus and be motivated to accomplish what we have planned. Sometimes things didn’t happen the way we planned, but we can adjust and be flexible. Time is gold to those who value time.

Time Management: Getting Busy or being Idle

Time management is an important factor on being successful.  Time is gold for those who have handful of activities where 24 hours are sometimes not enough. You cannot even find time to sleep because there are things to do. But for those who are lazy and bored, idleness is a way of life.

Time Management especially during Pandemic

Days are counting but you are still unproductive.  Getting busy or to be  idle is a choice you have to make on a daily basis. It is a choice if you are going to be lazy or do productive activities. If you choose to be idle, it means you just hang around the house or your room, watching television being a couch potato, staying on the internet just browsing without having an agenda of researching or working online.

If you choose to get busy, you have a plan for your daily activities and  motivated to accomplish what you have planned. Sometimes things did not happen the way you planned, but you can adjust and be flexible.

During these Covid-19 pandemic days, time is slow while you stay at home.  This is a great opportunity to use time wisely for family, home improvements, self discovery, enhance skills and knowledge.  Sharing for unfortunate people during this pandemic is also needed either giving our time doing DIY faceshield, cooking meals for others, and other ways to help.

Time management means you value your time and also respect other's time.

Emergency Kit Preparedness

An emergency kit is important in our house with all the neccessary medicines intact. If a family member has special health condition, make sure that enough number of prescribed medicines are available. It is hard to go out if an emergency happens specially in the middle of the night.

For disaster preparedness, checkout the things you need depending on the type of disaster.  But generally, we will need food (canned  goods),portable emergency lamp, radio with batteries because electricity, Internet and mobile communicaations can be cut-off during a disaster which can be days.  You can research more of the list from the Internet to complete your emergency kit.

Things to do during Holidays

Holidays or having no work are much awaited days for people working in a busy schedule on ordinary days. Those who are employed who are working so hard in regular days with little time to spend with the family and to do some personal errands. Once the holidays starts, here are some ideas to do during holidays:

Travel with the family – an annual travel or quarterly can be planned in advance to maximize the holidays with the family.

Clean the house – a general cleaning of the house is good especially if the Christmas season is approaching. If you cannot manage to clean the whole house, other areas can be accomplished. Clean your own room, kitchen, or living room. What a good feeling after you have finished cleaning the house giving more inspirations to the whole family.

Reunite with old friends – this is an opportunity to invite old friends for a get together.

Be alone and spend time with yourself in a new environment – Do some retreat and enjoy yourself, the beauty of silence.

Good Interior Design of a Restaurant

When we had a breakfast from one of the favorite pastry and dining restaurant half an hour drive from our area, I took a picture inside. I like the stylish interior design of the restaurant, it helps customers to feel at home like me. The photo is actually the entrance of the female bathroom, at the right side of the door is the unique inverted mirror design. The pastel color combination and right lighting are just perfect for the restaurant.

More than a good food, the relaxing ambiance and comfort to enjoy the food adds up to the dining experience of customers. My family and I will definitely return for another sumptuous meal.

Weather Control Modification a Threat to the World

High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program project (HAARP) is a research project primarily to study ionosphere for the enhancement of communications and surveillance system purposes. But there is an underlying high secrecy about it and controversies are being circulating. Imagine the danger if selected people can really control the weather which can create earthquake, tornado, tsunami, and weather disasters. There had been various opinions about HAARP. This may have been built for a good purpose, but because of its capabilities it can be later be used by others for destructive purposes.

I will not further discuss about HAARP, but if you will be reading or Google “HAARP”, you can see a lot of articles and videos about it. There are already anti HAARP activist which continue to oppose about the program. Just a reminder that we need not to believe easily on everything what we read from the unreliable websites, but it is also good to be aware and research about these type of reports. It is for us to be vigilant about what is happening around us. It is also our responsibility to protect the world for our future generations.

We can ask does people really been too far about science and intelligence?

What is more Painful, Verbal or Physical Abuse?

A lot of women are confronted of abuse from their husband which causes separation. In rare cases, men becomes the victim of the abuse. There are many types of abuses, but the common one are physical abuse and verbal abuse. We know stories of physical abuses from marital broken relationships. Because men are typically physically capable, women are mostly victims of physical abuse.

There can be many forms of verbal abuse like insulting you in front of others, threatening words, blaming you for actions you did not do, controlling your actions, and other words to put you down. The abuser tries to control you to believe about these negative words.

A physical abuse can be very painful since you can really feel the pain. But a verbal abuse can have mental and emotional pains which are more lasting. How about you? what do you think is more painful, verbal or physical abuse?

Get help and go out of the dark situation where the abuser is actually at fault. Although things in life can be painful, there is always a healing process if we decide to get out of the situation and be happy.

Remember the movie "Enough" starring Jennifer Lopez?

Melt your Heart with Frozen Movie

his is a late article for the movie “Frozen”, which by now just won several Oscar Awards. I am quite late in watching the movie, when almost everybody have already seen it.

Here are some lessons we can learn from the movie:
Love is sacrifice. “Some people are worth melting for” said Olaf the Snowman, a favorite quote from the movie which really means to sacrifice self for the good of other or someone.

To melt one’s frozen heart.

Be wise with love, you can be deceived.

Sometimes we look too far, not realizing that true love is already in front of us.

Love can come in unexpected time and place.

Differences in the family can be conquered, after all you are a family.

Any moviegoer can be mesmerized by the great animation effects, this is better to watch in big screen. The songs became so popular that I always saw it from news and YouTube, I was just happy to see the part “I want to build a snowman” and “Let it go” being sung by the characters.
Overall, for me Frozen is a heart warming movie for all ages. I watched it on a weekend so it was like a relief for the stress during the week.

Is your heart currently frozen? Is there something that holding on, anger, fear, something else? Maybe, let it go ….let it go….

Road Trip for Drivers

It is not enough that one knows how to drive, but also observe proper road etiquette and follow traffic rules. Here are some reminders for drivers to keep safe on the road:

Make sure that maintenance check is done before starting the engine. Most accidents happens because of lack of proper maintenance and driver’s negligence.

To avoid accidents and heated arguments with other drivers on the road, practice good driving habit such as signaling when making turns, give way if necessary, cautious at intersections, dim lights when another car is approaching at night, respect to other drivers, and so on.

Follow road signs and follow traffic rules such as speed limit, traffic lights, respect for traffic officers.

Unplugged yourself with Simple Joys in Life

After many weeks of work, it is so refreshing that I was able to go out with a friend just to hang out and stroll around the city. Shopping need not to be in high fashion shops (we only bought from charity shops where we can buy cheap clothes with quality). Just to be away from the routinary regular work and from online work even for a half day. These two are both important and rewarding, but to be unplugged from time to time makes me more energized. A shared laughter, adventure, and good memories are simple joys in life that money cannot buy. A gift of friendship is a blessing to keep me going and face the everyday challenges again.

I believe that there is time for everything. A time to work, a time to play, a time to sleep, a time to be alone, a time to pray, a time to be with the family, a time to be with friends, a time to stop, and so on. We are a social being and we play a different roles like as a parent, as a wife, as a husband, as a daughter, as a co-worker and more. We nurture and balance our relationships in different ways for each role we play.

I hear some women getting tired of being a mom doing household chores and attending to their husband and children. It is not that they are complaining it is being done out of love for their family, but there are times that their energy are being fully maximized. Some women are not much appreciated by their family after they have done so much for them. Their self worth become low and their individuality as a person are quite lost. A time to be alone or doing what she loves to do is important, going out with friends is also essential so that she can be herself, and gain more confidence.

Let us Start on a Clean Plate

Is there a time that you told another person “let us start on a clean plate”? It is like saying “let us start all over again from the scratch”. The phrase is commonly used when two persons or two parties had misunderstanding either on personal or business relationship. A clean plate means from number one eliminating the past or what had happened. Both will lay the cards and will start with a new agreement or like meeting half-way. A second chance for both parties is always a good one but it is up to both of you if you will end it up as happy ending or not.

How about you? Have you been on the same situation?

Factors of a Good Restaurant

Dining in a restaurant is one of the delightful activity one can have either you go out alone, with family, friends, or business partners. Aside from the food, dining in a new environment (aside from the corners of your dining area) makes you unwind and enjoy food more. Food are served and you are given a good service by the restaurant. Here are some of the factors that makes a good restaurant:

Good food. This is of course the main factor since your basic purpose is to eat good food. Customers should be satisfied with what they pay for.

Fast service of the staff. Your apetite may be lost because of a poor service. A restaurant must sure that customers are being served in time.

Good ambiance of the restaurant. The ambiance should provide comfort and relaxation to customers. Is the sound too loud? Are the tables properly placed, is there enough space for people to go around?

Clean bathroom. This is important for most customers, it is a big factor for the overall evaluation of the restaurant. Cleanliness should be observed especially in the food industry.

Do you have unforgettable positive or negative experience with a restaurant?

Outreach Program Activities for Kids

Having outreach activities outside the routinary work during weekdays are the most I enjoy. Years back, my group of friends used to have outreach programs for the less fortunate. Events such as Christmas Party is fun, I am assigned in organizing the games for the kids and doing the flyers for the various events. The group was composed of working women and inspite of the busy work schedule of the week, we meet and plan for the next events. It was fun and spirit enriching. I miss those days that there is one weekend that you got to do other valuable things. Members had gone to their own lives, some got married, some moved to another country, some I do not know already.

I hope to continue these activities if  my time permits.

Men wearing Color Pink?

Color pink is always associated with girls and women. Just like with the color blue is associated with boys and men. But these days, being unconvential wardrobe does not define one’s gender. More and more men wearing pink, it is becoming an acceptable trend in society. They are confident enough with themselves that color does not really define one. Some men not only wear pink, but also other pastel colors, women may find it attractive but some still stick with the traditional colors associated with men. A pink tie is nice but with the over-all clothing right combination and his personality.

But what about men wearing all pink? :-D Well, you decide.

Casual, Semi Casual, or Formal?

Different personalities comes with different styles of dressing. Depending on the person, there are certain clothes we love to wear. But there are appropriate clothes for various events. Casual maybe jeans, shirts, shorts, hoodies, sneakers, and other casual wear which are comfortable for everyday activities. On the other hand, formal dresses are usually uncomfortable and being worn during parties, theater premier events, or other important events. For women, high heels are paired with formal dresses. Smart casual or semi formal are being worn in the office or activities which do not require formal wear.

Since I am wearing smart casual or business attire during weekdays, during weekends, I prefer to have casual wear if I am going to the grocery or nearby mall then change appropriate clothes when going to church on Sundays. I rarely wear formal dresses since I only select formal events that I go to. How about you?

Do you Remember Having a Slambook?

Do you remember having a slambook? A slambook is a notebook usually for teens, the owner of the slambook writes some questions and let others (usually friends) answer on the slambook. This is highly popular in the 80’s or 90’s.

Here are some questions from a slambook:
Describe yourself
Describe me
What is your motto in life?
Who is your crush?
Define love

Until now I still have my slambook with me during my elementary days inspite that our family had lived and moved to various places. Whenever I have time to visit my old things, I sometime read it and it is good to reminisce the old days. Unfortunately, some of those friends who wrote on my slambook are nowhere to be found some I still have connection with. Do you happen to have a slambook?

Do you take a nap in the afternoon?

Do you usually take a nap in the afternoon? I remember when I was a child we are always asked to take a nap in the afternoon. Elders would often telll that children who take a nap will grow faster. Research shows that there are benefits of nap in a person, although we take a nap it did not disrupts our sleeping time at night.

Like in a computer, we need a system reboot or reset. It is like refueling our body in order to run smoothly again. If a person has many activities during the day where the physical and mental functions a lot, we tend to be stressed and worst, feel burnout. Taking a nap can improve memory and alertness, keep you in focus.

Lack of sleep can affect overall work performance of a person.
