My Recipe for Beef & Chicken Stew

Contributing Author :   Ladym33

My recipe for beef stew.
The essentials of beef stew are fairly common however, everyone has their own recipes and variations on how to make this hearty stew.  Some use a gravy base some use a tomato base.  This is how I like mine, don’t be afraid to add your own variations, different seasonings, different vegetables, or even substitute beef for chicken or pork (of course you would have to change the name of the recipe for that though).  I actually add chicken in to my beef stew because I like the added taste it gives.  This is my recipe.

Diced Pepperoni Dip Recipe

Contributing Author :  Ladym33

A very tasty and unique dip.

I love a good dip.  I love to serve dip at parties.  We had some friends over for cards recently and everyone was hungery.  I had some left over pepporoni in he fridge and some cream cheese and I decided to put them together to make a dip.  The cream cheese I had was not softened but I used my mixer to cream it, but it would probably be much easier to use room temperature cream cheese.

Freelancing : Personality Traits That A Freelance Writer Must Have

A freelance writer needs not only knowledge and skills, but also personality traits that will gets him going way up to the ladder of success.

I have read about many articles about freelancing and how to earn money online, but few tackles about the topic on the right attitude or personality traits  one must have.  There can be many skills needed and techniques on how to become a successful freelance writer, but as I go through the journey of writing for a year, I discovered that it is not an easy job.  There are ups and down period where you want to give up, but choose to be not.  Here are some personality traits that a freelance writer must have :

Be hardworking and persevere.  Every dream should be put into action and  freelance writing needs  a commitment from the writer.  To persevere is to write relentlessly on a regular basis, continuously looking for opportunities, and finding ways to improve knowledge, and skills.

Be patient.  We know that we cannot easily get things right way and becoming a successful in freelancing writing takes time and a lot of effort.  There can be many times that you need to be patient.

    * When your article is still under editorial, you need to be patient to be approved.
    * Be patient to the editor when your article was not approved, doing revisions, and submitting it again.
    * Be patient to see your article gets a higher traffic and your earnings as well.
    * With all the hardwork and perseverance, be patient when things go wrong as you have not expected it to be.
The whole process of climbing the ladder of success is about patience.

Be friendly.  “No man is an island”, right? The Internet or the  world wide web  can also  means connections.  If you are writing for a content site or blogging, you need to create a network and promote your own links.  It is the reason why social media is used not only for personal use, but promoting business as well.  For a freelance writer, having many friends is important.  But being friendly is not only to promote your own, but to interact with others learning from them and sharing what you can as well.

In some cases, real friendships are built.  It is good to know that there are fellow writers who motivates and keep your dreams alive.

Be humble.  Whether you are a beginner or experienced freelance writer, there is a vast knowledge still to be learned from the knowledge and experience of others.

Be optimistic.  To see the bright side of all the  efforts invested knowing that each day is a step towards success.

So with these traits, I hope you become not only a successful freelance writer but a better man as well. The writer wants to learn more from its readers, please share your list and comments.

How To Prepare Kids For School Opening

Get organized and avoid stress with last minute school opening preparations.

PLAN IN ADVANCE.   First things first, write down things to do list and make a plan in advance to get organized.

SCHEDULE A SCHOOL VISIT.   Coordinate with teachers or school administration about the year calendar schedule of the child, and ask if there will be any other specified requirements.  Confirm  school supplies list  to avoid rush buying if you miss one.

PURCHASE OF SCHOOL SUPPLIES.   Schedule the purchase of  school supplies  in advance atleast a month before the school opening to avoid shopping rush buying and crowded stores.   Parents can get a better deal  if purchase in advance since because of high demand, prices tend to increase during school season most especially before the school opening.   School uniform, backpack, shoes, lunch box, coat should already in placed a week before the first day of school.  If budget permits, a few pair of clothing would be a good idea for school events and other activities.

CONDITION THE KIDS.   Start changing the schedule of the child, gradually limit the playing time and adjust their  bedtime schedule. This is to prepare their body clock and mind in getting up early during school season. Not all children are eager in going back to school such as those who experienced bullying from classmates, isolation or just been too lazy to go back to school.  A feeling of anxiety is a natural feeling that may experience the child weeks before the school opens specially for fresh starter students. A new school, new set of people or friends would be a challenge to them on a bigger environment. The need to belong and accepted in a new group of people and coping with the school standards. To help the kid reduce anxiety :
• Communicate with your kid a positive outlook towards school.  Talk about own fun experiences during the good old days.
• Bring the child on the stores when you purchase the supplies list.  New things will give excitement to the child and let her/him choose the color of preference unless school gives specific requirements.
• Ask atleast three things the cause of the child’s worry and explain one by one in a most positive way.
• Give the assurance that you are always ready to listen about your child’s school stories.

OUTLINE HOUSE NEW SCHEDULE.  For a busy working parents or moms, time management skills is very important.  Schedule time for the child doing  the homework, playing time, and parents tutoring timetable together with the parents.  An option of having a school bus or taking turns in bringing and fetching the the child from school.  Do some phone calls with other parents if carpool can be arranged.
