Do you usually take a nap in the afternoon? I remember when I was a child we are always asked to take a nap in the afternoon. Elders would often telll that children who take a nap will grow faster. Research shows that there are benefits of nap in a person, although we take a nap it did not disrupts our sleeping time at night.
Like in a computer, we need a system reboot or reset. It is like refueling our body in order to run smoothly again. If a person has many activities during the day where the physical and mental functions a lot, we tend to be stressed and worst, feel burnout. Taking a nap can improve memory and alertness, keep you in focus.
Lack of sleep can affect overall work performance of a person.
